Under the 15th Finance Commission grant, Erode Corporation bought two waste water suction vehicles and 5 vehicles for cleaning public toilets were bought at a cost of Rs. 1.66 cr. Erode Mayor Nagarathinam Subramaniam handed it over to the Corporation Public Health department. She received an LED tv donated by the Federal Bank in her chamber for keeping it in the Corporation's maternity centre.
Earlier, she presided over the corporation council meeting and passed a condolence resolution for the death of Erode East MLA Thirumagan Evara and offered floral tribute to his portrait. The meeting adopted 22 resolutions including one to rename Cutchery Street after late MLA. Deputy Mayor Selvaraj and Commissioner Sivakumar were present.
