Housing Minister S Muthuswamy said that the construction work of the new eight-storey building at the Erode Government General Hospital (GH) will be becompleted by December. The service road adjacent to the GH is narrow and it is being considered to take the site of the hospital to widen it by 3 to 4 feet. Thus, when the site of the hospital is taken for the widening of the service road, the transformer inside the hospital, the public toilet, the police out post, etc., will be shifted to another place.
Considering the increase in the number of patients, an eight-storey building is being constructed at the back of the hospital. We plan to complete the work by December. After the completion of the construction work, the required modern medical equipment, special departments like cardiology, nephrology, neurology will be brought in, additional doctors will be hired, and the basic facilities in the hospital will be improved.
The existing space crunch problem will be solved. The hospital cleaning and security staff are working through a private company. Their plea for getting pay as per the collector's order would be considered by the collector.
The temporary sanitary workers of Erode Corporation struck work against a GO on outsourcing the workers.
The GO was issued for all corporations and municipalities. If there is a problem related to our district, we can intervene. As it is a statewide GO, a letter has been sent to the Minister of Urban Administrstion Minister in this regard, he said.
