JSS college of pharmacy has organized a three-day-long exhibition cum workshop for creating awareness about pharmaceutical science and its impact on health among school students from Monday at three places in the district.
The program, titled ‘health in hands: onboard’, was sponsored by DST-NCSTC, New Delhi. They had extended a financial aid worth Rs 13.32 lakh. The first program was organized at the college premises on Monday to educate students from Ooty and as many as 284 students along with 40 teachers from various schools participated in the program.
The program was inaugurated by the Chief Educational Officer (CEO) S Dhamodharan, while Kumar, assistant project officer of Samagra Siksha and Nandhakumar, principal of JSS public school attended the program as guest of honours.On the first day, a science exhibition titled ‘innovation project models on basic and health science’ and a quiz program were organized.
A total of 88 projects were exhibited by 150 students in two categories and 43 teams with 123 students participated in the quiz program. Of which, 51 students won prizes under different categories. The second program would be organized in Gudalur from November 10 to 12, while the third program was scheduled to take place in Coonoor from November 21 to 23.
