Farmers plea to provide Natham land patta

Tamil Nadu Small and Marginal Farmers Association President Swatanthararasu pleaded to  the government to grant Natham land pattas, which was suspended, to ryots immediately. 

At the Erode District Agricultural Grievance Meeting, held yesterday at the Collector's office under the leadership of DRO Santoshni Chandra, he said: Agricultural land is decreasing in Erode district so agricultural land should not be acquired for setting up Sipcot project.

Power Grid Corporation should give compensation as per the Supreme Court judgment of 2013 to all affected lands under the HT power towerline erection work. TNEB had already fixed Rs 36,500 per coconut tree to the farmers since 2017 as compensation. 

So, the remaining amount should be paid. When farmers took their goods to Co-operative societies or regulated markets for sales, the commercial tax department should not intercept and inspect the goods.

3 permanent paddy procurement centres should be set up in the district. Soap Manufacturing unit of KVIB in Modakurichi should be modernised.  Komari vaccine should be provided to cattle immediately. Election should be held for the LBP Irrigation Councils.  Shortage of land surveyors in the district should be removed. 10 kg wheat should be  given in the ration shops as many were suffering with diabetes.
