G.O expected to give Land Pattas for Natham Lands

Government Order is expected to give pattas in Natham classified lands in the district, said District Revenue Officer S. Santoshini Chandra.  Presiding over the farmers grievance redressal meeting at the collectorate on Tuesday, she responded to a plea on patta distribution by stating that of 30000 petitions received in this regard from public, 18000 were under consideration. A GO is expected to process the applications, she added. 

She said that as against the normal annual rainfall of 733.44 mm, the district received 581.61 mm till August 30.Water level of Bhavanisagar dam is 102 feet and 30.31 TMC water. Till the end of July this year, 31398 hectares of agricultural crops and 16423 hectares of horticultural crops were raised.

172 matric tons of paddy, 20 tons of minor millets, 6.5  tons of pulses and 38.6 tons of oil seeds are kept  for distribution to ryots in agricultural extension centres this year. Urea 2312 tons, DAP 2003 tons, potash 1623 tons and complex  9992 tons are in reserve.

Sufficient stocks of inputs are available for the current season. In 2022-23, Kalaignar All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Programme  is being implemented in selected 44 village panchayats in order to increase food grain production by identifying barren lands in these panchayats and bringing them under cultivation. At present, surveys are being carried out in order to dig borewells there. Paddy grown in Tadapalli Arakkankottai Ayakattu irrigated areas is in the maturing season.

Therefore, the field workers of the Department of Agriculture visit the fields in person and inspect if there is any damage to the crops. They are recommending pest control methods to the farmers. Since water has been released from Keezbhavani Dam   for paddy cultivation,  seeds required by the farmers are being kept at the Agricultural Extension Centers in the district. Also, other inputs required by the farmers are kept in stock at the regional and sub-regional agricultural extension centers in the respective areas. She advised the ryots to get them.
