Global Welfare Foundation a non-profitable, non-governmental organization, serving the less privileged of the society organized free eye camp for cataract screening in association with Sri Jain SwetamberTerapanth Trust, Triplicane, Chennai and SankaraNethralayaThe free Eye checkup was held at Sri Jain Swetamber Terapanth Trust for the less privileged people of Chennai. Mr.SrinivasanLingeswaran, Founder & Managing Trustee, Global Welfare Foundation ,said more than300 walk-in OPDs were screened. 

Up to 45 patients are diagnosed and will be taken for cataract surgery in Sankara Nethralaya at free of cost.In Six-months’ time Global Welfare Foundation in association with SankaraNethralaya have conducted more than 20 eye camps throughout 
Tamilnadu and screened more than 750 patients for cataract surgery, according to a communication from the foundation.
