The post of the Chairman of the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) lies vacant.
Tamilnadu Government decided to appoint retired DGP Sylendra Babu as the Chairman.
of the TNPSC. But the Governor R.N.Ravi returned the file without approving it.
Amidst condemnations from the state governments and various parties the Governor's office has sought clarification about the basis of the selection was made.
A detailed clarification letter was sent from the Government to the Governor. However the Governor has rejected the selection of Sylendra Babu. This has drawn criticism from several quarters.
Sylendra Babu served honestly and won the admiration of the people of Tamilnadu. The state government belived that Sylendra Babu would be the best fit for effective and transparent administrator of the TNPSC.
Rejecting the the choice of Sylendra Babu as wrong show that the Governor has crossed the limits of the Governor's portfolio. Vaiko has condemned this saying the Governor has acted as the agent of the Union Government of the BJP.
The Governor has also rejected the honorary doctorate to Sankaraiah the noted freedom fighter who turned 100 years.
He has dumped the files into the dustbin of Raj Bhavan just because of opposing the DMK.
In the interest of people of Tamilnadu the Governor should relinquish his post. Can he contest in any one constituency in Tamilnadu in the comming Parliamentary election?
The people of Tamilnadu have not sidelined the Governor but it is long since he has been thrown away from their minds.
