Govt delays AAP deliberately: KCK

The government was deliberately delaying completion of Athikadavu-Avinasi water project, alleged Bavani MLA, AIADMK Erode Suburban East district secretary and former minister KC Karupanan. Addressing booth committee members meeting of Perundurai segment at the office of Perundurai MLA S Jayakumar, who presided, he said that former CM Edapadi K Palaniswamy, who ruled the state effectively for 4 years, allotted Rs 1650 cr for AAP.

 If there was no Corona, the AAP could have been completed nearly 2 years back. However, during AIADMK rule, 90 percent of work was completed. But, now, the government was deliberately delaying the project, he noted. During the then DMK rule, many ryots were shot dead in Coimbatore region when they sought reduction of power tariff by 1 paise per unit. After MGR came to power, free power was given to ryots.

Then, Jayalalithaa offered 100 units of free supply to each family, 200 to weavers and 750 units to powerlooms and solved 18 hours of powercut problem in the state. But, now, DMK,  hiked power tariff, water and property tax steeply. On the other, L & Order situation was in bad shape since DMK came to power.

The then CM Jayalalithaa offered 14 things to students. But, now, only notes and textbooks were given. She offered marriage aid with gold, worth Rs 88000. But it was stopped. Bicycle was given students only after AIADMK's stir. Scooty scheme for working women and many welfare schemes of her was also stopped. 2000 mini clinics were closed. Of 1.5 lakh old age pension during AIADMK rule in the district, 50000 were cancelled. At the same time, many poll promises of DMK were not yet fulfilled. So, people are eager to defeat DMK in the coming LS and Assembly polls, he said.
