Govt urged to close Tasmac shops step by step

Government should close Tasmac shops step by step as per the poll promise made by the CM MK Stalin, former electricity, prohibition and excise minister P Thangamani.Speaking in the Assembly, he pointed out closure of 500 Tasmac shops during late Jayalaithaa period and another 500 shops during the previous Edapadi K Palanisamy rule.

The DMK poll manifesto also assured to reduce the shops. In his poll campaign, the CM reiterated the assurance. Instead of reducing the shops, more shops were being opened now. By citing this, he didn't do politics in the issue.

Besides, there is an information that the CM told newsmen in Delhi that the shops would be closed in phased manner. In Pallipalayam in his segment, no shop was opened for the past 10 years. But,  now, a new shop was opened. So,  the government should take a good decision to close down the shops step by step. It is said that TNEB chairman sent a circular informing that TNEB was suffering with loss so that no promotion would be given for staff and officials in it.  Eighteen trade unions signed in that circular. Similarly, it is said a committee was formed regarding appointment of gangmen in TNEB and it is said that on the basis of the committee's report alone,  the postings will be made.

I want to clarify that 10000 persons selected for the post, none is belonging to AIADMK.  The interview for selecting gangmen was held in transparent manner and it was also videographed during AIADMK rule. If need be such video can be seen. If there is a malpractice, inquiry can be held and action can be taken. But, now,  5000 families of persons selected for the post were hit due to delay in posting, he noted.
