A state-of-the art dialysis equipment donated by Rotary Foundation (GG 2127513) was inaugurated at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai
According to an official communication from the institution, Rotary Club of Guindy and Rotary Club of K K Nagar-RID 3232, Rotary Club of Alor Star , Malaysia -RID 3300, Rotary Club of Chennai Triumph &Rotaract Club of Saveetha Medical College-RID 3232 have donated $50,000 USD ( 35 lakhs ) as Rotary Grants for the set up 5 NiproSurdial 55 plus hemodialysis units.
The Chief guest Rtn. J Shridhar, Rotary District Governor,RID 3232 stressed the importance of dialysis for the CKD patients and urged Rotary members to support in the care of renal transplant patients to ensure better quality of life post treatment.
Dr. Saveetha Rajesh, Medical Director, Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, was instrumental in materializing the initiative to start a hemodialysis unit. Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, Founder and Chancellor of Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences delivered inaugural address.
