HM plans to erect 1,008 idols in Erode

Hindu Munnani state general secretary Kishor Kumar said the Munnani will erect 1,008 Ganesh idols in Erode district in connection with Vinayagar Chaturthi festival on August 31. 

He presided over the munnani consultative meeting with munnani functionaries of the district at Erode on Sunday. District President Jegatheesan, Coimbatore Divisional secretary Palaniswami, District General Secretary Sakthi Murugesan and others were present. The following resolutions were passed in the meeting: 

This year, Vinayagar Chaturthi will be celebrated under the theme 'Let's defeat separatism and develop nationalism'. Vinayagar idol will be consecrated at 1008 places, including 500  in Erode city. 11 feet Veera Vinayagar idol will be erected in Sampath Nagar, Erode. 

Following this, every evening cultural programme will be held there till August 3rd. Following this, idol visarjana procession will be held at 11 places. 

On Sept 1, the rally will be held at Vijayamangalam, Perundurai, Kanchikovil, Arachalur,  on 2nd  Chennimalai, Vellodu, Kodumudi, on 3rd  Erode city, and  on 4th Chithodu, P.B. Agraharam, Modakurichi and other areas.
