On August 20th, the Sakthi Masala's Homepreneur Awards /Suya Sakthi Virudhugal, an initiative by Brand Avatar, was presented at the Lady Andal Auditorium in Chennai. The event celebrated the determination of women who have turned their homes into business hubs. Over 15 home-based women entrepreneurs across 12 categories, including social welfare, agriculture, and digital, were recognized and honored at the 6th edition of the awards. These dynamic individuals have transformed their kitchens into studios, living rooms into classrooms, and passion into prosperity.
The awards were presented to the winners by distinguished guests and celebrities. Lok Sabha MP Dayanidhi Maran praised Shakti Masala's Suya Sakthi Virudhugal Awards for giving women self-confidence. Priyanka Harish from Chennai received the "Digital Homepreneur" award, while S. Radhalakshmi Sathishkumar from Coimbatore received the Agriculture Award.
Suhasini Mani Ratnam presented the Sakthi Pen Award to Ms. Revathi, who was acknowledged in the "Entertainment" category for Best Female Personality. Mr. PC Duraisamy and Mrs. Santhi Duraiswamy bestowed the Sakthi Pen Award (inspirational award) upon Shantha (Shantha Patti samayal) from Chennai in the "Food and Beverages" category. Other winners included Rtn Dr. Renuka Ramakrishnan from Chennai in the "Social Welfare" category, G. Josephine Regina Ponmani from Chennai in the "Home Professional" category, Gayathri S from Coimbatore in the "Beauty & Wellness" category, S. Shahnaaz from Tajore in the "Arts & Culture" category, Sindhu S from Coimbatore in the "Education & Literature" category, and Sathya Kavitha from Trichy in the "Agriculture" category.
Among the recipients of the Sakthi Pen Award (Inspirational Awards), PADMA SHRI Meenakshi Chitharanjan was honored in the "Arts & Culture" category, and Sruti Nakul was lauded with the Positive Influencer Award. Over the last six years, Homepreneur Awards has recognized and empowered over 350 women through recognition and grants. This year's event carried a global resonance, with over 60% of applicants hailing from beyond Chennai's vibrant streets.
