Chief Minister MK Stalin denied meeting Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, addressing rumors in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on December 10.
This clarification came amidst discussions about agreements between the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and the Adani Group.
Speaking in the Assembly, CM Stalin said, "There have been allegations that I met and spoke with Adani. I have never met him, nor do I intend to.
Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji has already clarified the misinformation regarding Adani Group's investments in Tamil Nadu, yet the allegations persist.”
He accused opposition parties, including the BJP and PMK, of spreading false narratives to tarnish the government’s reputation. Referring to calls for an investigation into the Adani Group, Stalin questioned, “Are those making accusations against the Tamil Nadu government willing to support the demand for a Parliamentary Joint Committee to investigate allegations against Adani at the national level? If so, let them explain their stance in Parliament.”
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Adani issue has no connection to Tamil Nadu and emphasised the need for transparency and accountability at the national level.
This statement comes amid ongoing debates about corporate influence and governance, with the Adani Group often being at the center of such discussions.
