The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, president B Sriramulu submitted a memorandum to S Krishnan IAS Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department of Tamil Nadu, highlighting various issues of Coimbatore, including establishment of Electronic Hardware Technology Park. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, has launched the Electronic Hardware Technology Park Scheme to encourage the entrepreneurs in establishing manufacturing units of the electronic hardware equipments.
The scheme focuses on promoting entrepreneurs in setting up Hardware Technology Parks anywhere in India to export their produced electronics goods. Several benefits and assistances are provided under the export-oriented scheme to enhance the production and export of electronics goods and services.
Electronic Hardware Technology
This will also generate more employment opportunities. We appeal to the State Government to take up with the Union Government to get such an Electronic Hardware Technology Park for Coimbatore, since Coimbatore is a manufacturing hub of Hardware Industries.
The other subjects are: Issue of trade licences, Coimbatore Airport Expansion Project, Sulur Defence Park, Establishment of tribunal GST area bench at Coimbatore, Funds For Infrastructure, water availability and better amenities, Reduction of property registration charges for women, Creation of new Coimbatore Master Plan, Single Window Clearance for building plan approval, Multi Model Logistics Park (MMLP), Ease of doing business, setting up of a Mega Textile Park at Coimbatore, Realignment of road (Tunnel) in NH 948 in Sathy forest area.
