KASC celebrates Handloom Day

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion of Kongu Arts and Science College (KASC), Erode, celebrated National Handloom Day. 

As a part of the celebration, the students  and staff members visited ‘’Silk sarees Handloom Weaving Unit ‘’at Sirumugai, Coimbatore to gain knowledge on handloom weaving. 

They interacted with manufacturers and  weavers about manufacturing and sales of handloom silk sarees. 
And also they visited Sericulture unit at Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam,  Coimbatore. 
The visits enabled the students to enrich their knowledge in the area of handloom and sericulture.
