KCG College of Technology innaugurated KCG Space Technology Centre with an objective to encourage the students to gain knowledge on advanced fields of satellite and space systems and use them for societal benefits.
The college has also entered into MOU Exchange with ST Advanced Composites and Metzer LLC. to foster innovations in micro and nano satellites for different missions and provide opportunities for space start-ups.
Innagurating the centre Mr. A.S Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri Awardee and Former Chairman ISRO said, “ Today space technology research is expanding globally and India also has realised the need to involve private enterprises”. “Make use of this huge opportunity and look for space technology if you are looking for societal development”, he added. The Special Guest, Dr A Sivathanu Pillai, a Padma Bhushan Awardee and the founder of Brahmos and in his address stressed the need to collaborate with industries and develop start-ups. Dr Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions, presided over the function. Mr Nicolas Cazalis, Vice President – ENAC and Dr Lalit Gupta, Former JDG – DGCA felicitated the gathering. Mr Nicolas Cazalis stressed on the need for educational institutions to enter into partnership with international satellite organisations, research institutions and universities and provide skilled workforce in space technology.
