KMCH inaugrates palliative care ward

The Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) in Kovai Medical Center and Hospitals opened an exclusive Palliative care ward. It was inaugurated by the Chairman of KMCH Dr Nalla G. Palaniswami and Vice Chairman of KMCH Dr Thavamani Devi Palaniswami.

Rotary Club of Coimbatore Meridian and Attitude Charitable Trust have also partnered with KMCH to implement their project ‘The Guardian’ where underprivileged patients with cancer will be offered palliative care services in the special ward free of cost. 

Rose day celebrations were held in the KMCH Auditorium and more than 200 families participated in the event.

KMCH Chairman Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami spoke about the progress of the center over the last decade. Dr. Arun N. Palaniswami the executive director of KMCH emphasised on the importance of palliative care as separate speciality and how early introduction of palliative care makes a sea of difference in the lives of suffering patients. This year to make the event more special Dr. Parveen Sultana, motivational speaker was invited as chief guest and she spoke based on the theme “New Life New Hope” Audience were in raptures during her talk and the event was a wholesome fest.
