PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore has been recognized as one of the Nodal Training Institutes in Tamil Nadu. This scheme is launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India, in association with NABARD.
The Programme is implemented through the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.
This 45 days training programme was inaugurated on April 6, 2022, inside the College premises. Thirty candidates were selected through a systematic screening committee who will be the beneficiaries of the Programme.
Dr N. Yasodha Devi, Secretary, PSGR Krishnammal College of Women delivered the Welcome Address. Dr S. Nirmala, the Principal, felicitated the event.
R. Chitra Devi, Joint Director (Agriculture), Coimbatore inaugurated the training programme. She stated that the training programme will open up new avenues in agri business and start-up activities in Agri and allied sectors.
Rupesh, State Consultant, MANAGE, Hyderabad joined the ceremony virtually and highlighted the objectives and importance of the scheme. He said that the scheme was implemented in the year 2002 and since then around 79,000 individuals were trained through this scheme pan India. Apart from 45 days training programme, one year of handholding support will also be given to the trainees.
