Yugam, one of South India’s largest inter-college techno-cultural-sports festivals, organized by Kumaraguru Institutions, Coimbatore is back for another exciting season.
Yugam 2025 is set to take place from March 6 to 8, promising three days of power-packed events that will leave a lasting impact on the youth. Prof. Vijilesh, Dean, KCT, Prof. Sheela Srivastava from the Office of Student Affairs, KCLAS, told newsmen "When Yugam debuted in 2003, it had a modest participation of 2,000 students. In 2024, at its 12th edition, the festival witnessed an incredible turnout of over 12,000 students from 200+ colleges, featuring 105+ events and 45+ workshops, with a total prize pool of Rs.12 lakh. This year, we expect close to 15,000 participants," said Prof. Vijilesh.
This year’s edition boasts over 100 events tailored for arts and engineering students, including 33 technical competitions, 57 non-technical events, 21 cultural showcases, 21 literary sessions, and 15 arts events. Backed by Kumaraguru Institutions, Yugam 2025 has been allocated a budget of Rs.1.5 crore, with TVS as the co-sponsor and support from Karur Vysya Bank and LGB, Coimbatore. The total prize money has been increased from Rs.12 lakh to Rs. 15 lakh.
Some of the key highlights include the Student Conclave for Climate Change on March 5, the Inspire India Youth Conclave on March 6, and Angadi, a student-led trade fair. Additionally, three exclusive Pro Shows will be held across the three days.
