LBP Canal renovation work to be commenced on May 1

Lower Bavani Project (LBP) canal maintenance work will be started from May 1, said Housing Minister S Muthusamy.
After a consultation meeting at the Collectorate, on Wednesday, he said that the old structures, sluizes, culverts, and bridges of the canal would be repaired under the Rs 740 cr project.
After the study of the ryots opposing and supporting the renovation project, further modernisation work will be  initiated, he said.
Collector H Krishnanunni and many officials attended the function.
