Let the cooperation of Governor R.N Ravi continue!

Online gambling has played with the lives of many youngsters. Many people committed suicide in Tamil Nadu after losing lakhs of rupees. Incidents of suicide with the family also took place. Many families were destroyed and children were also affected. So there was a demand to abolish this online gambling.

The Tamil Nadu government also sought to ban online gambling. As a result, the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games, 2022, Bill was tabled in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on October 19 and passed unanimously through a voice vote.

Governor RN Ravi has approved the bill. It seems that it will come into force after publication of the guidelines in this regard in the official gazette. Those involved in online gambling will be jailed for 3 months or fined Rs.5,000 or both. It has also been informed that the operator of the gambling will be punished with a fine of Rs 10 lakh or imprisonment for 3 years or both. The Tamil Nadu government has also said that a commission will be set up to monitor this.

Thanks to Governor RN Ravi for approving the Bill. This will surely put an end to online gambling suicides and financial losses.
