Madras Art Guild launches its third edition

Madras Art Guild, a public art festival in Chennai, has launched its third edition with the theme of "A Fine Balance". The festival aims to explore the relationship between human beings and their environment, with a focus on climate change and sustainability. Over 200 art installations, sculptures, paintings, and photographs will be displayed at the festival, supported by leading institutions and notable individuals.

The festival was inaugurated on September 22, 2023, by the Consuls General of Republic of Korea in India and the Deputy Consul General of Japan in India. The venue partner, VR Chennai, will be a hub of artistic activity, with installations, exhibitions, an art bazaar, art workshops, the young artists program, literature festival, and several other exciting events. The Curator, Sumi Gupta, said that the festival offers a platform for budding artists and nurtures a sense of belonging and reverence for the city's rich cultural heritage.
