Maxwell charitable trust that is aimed at helping government school students and providing training and financial assistance to destitute women to start business, is inaugurated in the city. The trust would be headed by professor M Murugan.
United education institution chairman Shanmugam, Nizhal centre founder Murugan and FAIRA north president Suresh Kumar participated in the function as chief guests and assured to extend all support to the trust.
Speaking at the occasion, Murugan said the trust would extend all the required assistance to the government school students and to help destitute women to start businesses.
During the event, notebooks were distributed to school students, grocery items were given to elderly people and sewing machines were given to five women.
