Mechanical students of Sona College of Technology bag high-paying job placements

Mechanical engineering students of Salem Sona College of Technology have bagged a record number of well paying job offers this yearSona Mechanical students have got more than 160 job offers this academic year with annual salary ranging from Rs 3 lakh to a maximum of Rs 8 lakh.

 For the first time students of Mechanical Engineering have got jobs with salary at par with the students getting jobs in the IT sector said, Mr. Valliappa, Chairman, Sona Group of Institutions and Mr. S.R.R Senthilkumar, Principal, Sona College of Technology.

The special feature of this department is that the students can get job opportunities in both the manufacturing sector and the IT sector according to their preference. This is because the department's curriculum includesArtificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analysis, IoT and Computer Language. 

As a result, 48 percent of students have secured employment guarantees in the IT sector this year. Sixty students have secured employment in both fields.Students have also got employment in Japan with a salary of Rs 28 lakh said Mr. Senthilkumar, Head, Mechanical Department.
