Medical Team gears up Probe over Ovum sales issue

A 16-year-old girl of Erode was forced by her mother and foster father to donate ovum 8 times illegally in hospitals at Erode, Salem,  Perundurai and Hosur etc for the past 3 years with creating a fake aadhar card. She was also raped by her foster father many times.  

Following a complaint from her police arrested 4 persons including her mother, foster father,  a woman agent Malathi and a person John  for creating fake aadhar card, a few days back. The case is being investigated by Surampatti Police Inspector Vijaya and police led by Additional Superintendent of Police Kanakeswari under the supervision of Erode District Superintendent of Police Sasi Mohan who sent summons to hospitals at Perundurai and Erode.  

The issue of ovum sale created much flutter in the District.Therefore, in order to find out the facts in this regard, Dr. A. Viswanathan, Joint Director, Medical Services and Rural Welfare Directorate, Dr. GS Gomati, Joint Director, Erode District, Dr. Malarvizhi, Gynecologist, Erode Government General Hospital, headed by Gurunathan, Deputy Director, Directorate of Medical Services, Chennai,  a team of anesthesiologist Dr. Kathiravan, Chennai, Junior Executive Officer Kamalakkannan were involved in the investigation in Erode from Sunday.

They went to the government hostel where the girl was staying and conducted an investigation in the presence of police officers.  They also conducted inquiries at private hospitals in Erode, Perundurai and Hosur.On the 2nd day yesterday the medical team was engaged in a multi-stage investigation in Erode.  A medical team led by Dr. Viswanathan visited the Erode District SP office yesterday to inquire about the steps being taken by the police in this regard. 

They sought information about the case from SP Sasimohan, additional SP Kanakeswari and Inspector Vijaya.The police then summoned the hospitals for details including the documents seized during the interrogation. Speaking to reporters later, Dr. Viswanathan said, 'The first phase of our team's investigation in Erode has been completed.  Here we conducted an investigation and it was revealed that the girl was taken to hospitals in Salem and Hosur areas and was involved in selling eggs.  

She has also been taken to hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.  So the next step is to conduct investigations in Salem and Hosur.  Then a report will be submitted with the help of the Governments of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on the conduct of investigations in the hospitals in the 
respective states.''It is stated that the 16-year-old girl has been forced in selling the ovum since she was in the age of 12.
