Meeting held to discuss preparation for Purattasi Pournami festival at Tiruvannamalai

Tiruvannamalai District Collector D Bhaskara Pandian chaired a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall to discuss preparations for the Purattasi Pournami festival, set for September 17. The meeting focused on ensuring essential amenities for devotees, managing traffic in Tiruvannamalai town, and arranging transportation.
The Collector instructed officials from different departments to take various measures, such as cleaning the 14 km Girivalam path, providing toilets and drinking water, and ensuring an orderly entry for devotees into the temple.
Medical camps are to be set up along the Girivalam path and inside the temple, while sufficient police personnel will be deployed for security. 
Fire extinguishing vehicles will be kept ready, encroachment of shops along the path will be prevented, and the sale of safe drinking water and cool drinks will be monitored. Additionally, action will be taken against beggars, and special provisions will be made for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals.
The meeting was attended by District Revenue Officer R Rampradeepan, Tiruvannamalai Revenue Divisional Officer Mandakini, Municipal Commissioner Gandhirajan, Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar Temple Joint Commissioner/Executive Officer C Jothi, and other departmental officials.
