Housing Minister S Muthusamy asked the officials to complete the Athikadavu Avinasi water project work within one month. There was a smooth outcome in the talks held by him with the farmers to lay the main pipeline for the project. To alleviate the drought in some areas of Erode, Tirupur and Coimbatore districts, the project was planned in the previous regime and the works were started at an estimated cost of Rs.1,620 crore.
Currently, 95 percent of the project work was completed.
