Minister of Housing S. Muthusamy inaugurated a People's Service Center in Erode Corporation and provided 40 modern trolleys to roadside vendors in the presence of Collector H. Krishnanunni and Corporation Mayor S. Nagaratnam and Commissioner K. Sivakumar.
The Minister handed over modern trolleys to 40 beneficiaries in the first phase out of the government grant-in-aid of Rs 1.05 cr to provide modern trolleys to 127 persons.
Subsequently, he heard complaints from the public and received their petitions. He said work has been started on 85 projects in Erode district.
Two bus stands will be created in Erode at a cost of zround Rs 200 crore. Arrangements have been made for widening the Erode-Sathyamangalam road. Steps have been taken to provide alternative accommodation for the occupants of the road. Regarding the laying of concrete in the Bavanisagar canal, the farmers have two views. He said the government was making great efforts to ensure a peaceful solution by holding talks with them.
District Panchayat president Navamani Kandasamy, Deputy Mayor Selvaraj, DMK City Secretary Subramaniam and DMK District Deputy Secretary Senthilkumar were also present on the occasion.
