Minister inaugurates new 108 ambulance service for hill people

Housing Minister S.Muthusamy and Health Minister M.Subramanian inaugurated new mobile medical team service, new 108 and 102 maternity and Amarar ambulance services at Thamaraikarai, Bargur Hill,  Anthiyur on Oct 30 in the presence of Anthiyur MLA AG Venkatachalam and Collector H Krishnaunni.

In his speech, Minister Subramaniam said the Chief Minister started 389 108 ambulance vehicles a few days ago. Of them, a vehicle has been provided for Tamaraikarai.  About 94,40,726 people have been benefited till date under the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme which was started by the Chief Minister last year in Krishnagiri district. 

Steps have been taken to diagnose the disease and provide medicines to the hill villages through video conference. He appreciated implementation of the treatment in Erode district. Steps will be taken by the district administration to improve the basic needs of the people of the area. 

Various medical infrastructure works will be carried out for Government Medical College Hospital, Government Hospitals, Primary Health Centers and Sub-Health Centers in Erode district at a cost of  Rs. 26.79 cr. Besides, buildings were under construction at a cost of Rs.5.5 crores and Rs.79.08 crores in various hospitals.  

Earlier, he walked 18 km distance from Thamaraikarai to Elachipalayam and at Elachipalayam Adi Dravidar tribal colony, he  saw two sisters Sneha and Abitha suffering from muscular dystrophy and ordered the officials to give them advanced treatment. 

He also provided medicine boxes to 3 patients.  He  inspected Bargur, Devarmalai, Osur health centres, Kongadai colony, and Andhiyur GH and inquired about the treatment provided to the public and availability of medicines.  Director, Department of Public Health and Immunization, DS Selva Vinayagam, top officials of health department Dr.s J.Nirmalson, Vinay, Premakumari, S.Saundammal, Kanagaraj, Raveendran, Mani, Shakti Krishnan attended the function.
