Minister inspects field study on pest control program in coconut trees

Information Minister  M. P. Saminathan inspected pest control and fertiliser management program in the coconut trees, arranged by the agriculture department and TNAU at Perundhouzvu Panchayat, in Pongalur panchayat union on Friday.
He said the field survey is being conducted in order to create awareness among the farmers and link them with the Agriculture  Department and TNAU.  The Agricultural Extension Center will provide necessary inputs to the ryots on pest management. 
He advised the ryots to participate in the training provided by the officers on the issue.  The study meeting was held to eliminate the coconut disease, he added. 
Collector Dr S Vineeth, Dr. Latha, a scientist from the Department of Crop Pathology, Joint Director (Agriculture) Mariyappan, Deputy Director (Agriculture) Mr. Suruliyappan, Deputy Director (Horticulture) Mr. Sureshraja, and many officials attended the function.
