Ministers Udayanidhi Stalin, Ponmudi, CV Ganesan and TN Skill Development Corporation Director Innocent Divya appreciated II year electrician course M Gokul of Perundurai Kongu ITI, functioning within Kongu Polytechnic, for his innovation of producing power through water flow in the pipeline from domestic tank by using a turbine and generator which could help people use the power in houses.
Gokul, son of a powerloom worker Murthy of Vijayamangalam, studied upto10th std in government school at Seenapuram and joined the ITI.
He says ''his concept is one among 170 submitted by students across the state in the competition arranged by the TN Skill Development Corporation and of which his model was one among 13 were adjudged best and the ministers inspected them at the Anna centenary library recently and appreciated the students''.
The prize - winning student says "I have participated in various competitions thanks to the support of Principal and faculty members. Kongu Polytechnic College and ITI Correspondent A.Venkatachalam felicitated him in the presence of ITI Principal N.Dhineskumar, Polytechnic Principal Dr.V.Vedhagiri Eswaran and faculty members.
