MLA's plea to renovate ancient Perumal temple

Perundurai MLA S.Jayakumar appealed to the government to renovate ancient Prasanna Venkatramana Swamy temple, near Perundurai bus stand, as the temple gopuram was damaged when lightening struck it in the heavy rain that lashed the area last night. 

The rain water intruded into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. 
The MLA who visited the temple today inquired about the damage with the officials of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department. He asked the authorities to initiate the gopuram and construction work as soon as possible and perform Kumbabhishekam.
