MLA welcomes water pumped under AAP

Perundurai MLA J Jayakumar welcomed water coming to Vadamalai Goundanpalayam tank, being pumped under the Athikadavu -Avinasi water project (AAP), by sprinkling flowers on Wednesday evening.  The 50-year old dream project of the farmers of the Kongu region, was fulfilled by former CM EPS by allocating over Rs 1744 cr in his rule and now the trial run was going on to pump water from the Kalingarayan check dam,  near Bavani, to 1045 tanks in Erode, Coimbatore and Tirupur districts, following completion of 99 percent of the project work. Periya Veerasangli Panchayat president Radhamani Sivakumar, party functionaries KPS Mani, Vijayan alias Ramasamy,  and Vijayalakshmi  were present on the occasion.
