MP Kanimozhi inaugurates medical camp

DMK’s general secretary and MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi inaugurated a mega free medical camp that was organized by Vadajani Fortis hospital at St Mary's high second school in the district.
Ministers Anitha Radhakrishnan and Geetha Jeevan were present at the event along with collector Senthil Raj and corporation mayor Jagan Periyasamy.

While speaking at the inaugural function, Kanimozhi said, when flights were canceled due to the cyclone, the hospital management came by road to the city because of the importance of conducting the medical camp now. She expressed her gratitude to the hospital management.

‘Varumun Kappom’

“We how much importance was given to health service by the Chief Minister and we have witnessed how the government had worked hard to protect lives during the pandemic. Today, ‘Veedu Thedi Maruthuvam’ is working like a sculpture,” she said.Pointing out that the medical camp was organized as a part of the program ‘Varumun Kappom’, she said that advanced medical treatments, multi-purpose special medical treatments and surgeries if needed would be provided for free through the government insurance scheme.

Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme

Venkat phanidhar Nelluri, founder of Fortis hospital said, patients diagnosed with health problems at the camp would be referred for further treatment and surgery would be performed under the Tamil Nadu government Chief Minister's Comprehensive Medical Insurance Scheme (CMCCIS).“At Fortis, our team of doctors, nurses, technicians and support staff are committed to reaching out to people in rural areas and providing access to quality healthcare. We would continue to provide better health services to all. The aim of the camp is to reach out to a multidisciplinary team of doctors who could provide better medical advice and create awareness about advanced treatments,” he added.

A multidisciplinary team of doctors who are experts in treating heart, lung, gastrointestinal, urology, liver and kidney transplant, heart surgery, orthopedics and gynecology related-ailments. A wide range of tests like echo, ultrasonography, electrocardiogram, lung function tests, fibro scan and bone mineral density would be conducted at free of cost at the camp.

Ottapidaram MLA MC Shanmugaiah attended the event as a special guest. Corporation commissioner Charusree, Government Medical College principal Sivakumar, RMO Silas Jebamani, district panchayat president Brahma Sakthi, Aavin chairman Suresh Kumar, public advocates Mohandas, Anand Gabriel and Madhya Rani, organizers Arun Kumar and Adinaku Balraj were present at the event along with doctors.
