Muthuswamy denies ex- minister's charge

Ex-minister Thangamani's claim that the power loom industry has been paralyzed due to the hike in electricity rates is untrue, said Housing Minister S Muthuswamy. Campaigning for DMK-Congress candidate at Erode Veerappanchathram in Erode-East segment, on Sunday, he  said that "the power looms are functioning as usual in Veerappanchatram area and it can be seen by all.

So, there is no truth in the statement of Thangamani. DMK started the election campaign for its ally-Congress yesterday morning itself. Once the Congress candidate for the election is announced, the Congress workers will also participate in the campaign.

Not only them, but all the allies have been invited to participate in the campaign shortly. It is normal that many people have applied for tickets in Congress party. It is normal for any party to apply for seat. But whoever is announced as the candidate, DMK will campaign and lead him to victory.

He said that the polling office will be opened in a few days.  He was accompanied by Erode Corporation Mayor Nagaratnam Subramaniam, former MLA Chandrakumar, Weavers Team State Secretary SLTP Sachithanandam  Erode Maanagar DMK Secretary Subramaniam, 17th Ward DMK Councillor and Veerappanchatram Area Secretary VC Natarajan.
