National Conference on Women Entrepreneurship

The Department of Resource Management, Department of Home Science Extension Education and Women’s Studies Center of the Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women  hosted the National Conference on “Women Entrepreneurship: A Step Forward to Empowerment and Sustainability” on Dec 1 and 2.  

The Presidential address was given by Prof. S. P. Thyagarajan, Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women followed by the inaugural address on women entrepreneurship for growth and sustainability by the chief guest      Dr. Yashodha Shanmugasundaram, Former Vice Chancellor, Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal. 

264 participants were registered and participated across India

Dr V Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women presented the keynote address and the Registrar Dr S Kowsalya felicitated all the participants. 
Around 264 participants were registered and participated across India. The conference included 7 concurrent sessions, one technical session – paper presentation, one panel discussion, besides the Inaugural and valedictory sessions.  The  Conference ended with a valedictory address by Dr N Manimekalai, Professor, Dept. of Women’s Studies, Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
