Secretary of Kamaraj college PSPKJ Somasundaram alias Somu presided over the inaugural
function of two-day-long national seminar on the topic, ‘climate change, rural migration and agricultural productivity’ that took place at the college premises on April 27 and 28.
The convenor of the seminar R Prabhavathy welcomed the dignitaries, while the college principal J Poongodi delivered the presidential address.
Former registrar of Bharathiyar university B Vanitha attended the function as the chief guest and released the seminar proceedings.
While addressing the gathering, Vanitha said that it was the high time to discuss climate change.
Former chairperson of Madurai Kamarajar University Dhulasi Brindha Varatharajan delivered keynote address and Velkumar delivered vote of thanks. The first technical session was chaired by ISEC professor Krishnaraj. The second day of the seminar started with the keynote address of Dhuraisamy, dean of humanity and social science of SRM University and the technical session was chaired by A Asok.
S Irudaya Raja from international institute of migration and development delivered the chief guest address during the valedictory function of the event. He also distributed certificates to participants.
Vote of thanks was proposed by the seminar director A Govindharaju.
