New restrictions on Clay Extraction hit brick production

New restrictions on Clay Extraction hit brick production

Workers engaged in brick production have expressed their grief that the production of bricks is affected due to the lack of raw material required for brick production. There are many brick kilns in Athippannagaund Putur, Chatumugai and Periyakodiveri area in Sathy.

Bricks manufactured here are also sent to other districts. In this case, the revenue department is insisting to submit 17 documents to get the clay required for making bricks. Due to this, brick kiln owners face difficulty in taking the clay. As a result, there was a shortage of clay and the production decreased and a brick cost rose to Rs.10. So, brick production is a question mark in the future.

Women brick cutters, lorry drivers and farm laborers who depend on this industry will be greatly affected. Also, many construction companies will also be affected. Therefore, they said that the restrictions imposed by the government on taking sand should be relaxed and help in the production of bricks.
