Nilgiris, Coimbatore likely to get heavy showers

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy showers in southern Tamil Nadu, Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts today and tomorrow. Erode, Salem, Namakkal and Karur districts will also receive heavy rains today. 

It has also forecasted light rain in a few places in Chennai. Fishermen have been advised not to go to the coastal areas of South Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Kanyakumari, Lakshadweep and the southeastern Arabian Sea.
Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts are likely to receive moderate showers during the next 3 hours.
