Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Thanneru conducted an inspection of various development projects in Ooty on September 16, reviewing ongoing works totaling Rs. 1 crore. The Collector first inspected the construction of public toilets under the Swachh Bharat scheme on the road leading to the Boat House and Pinker Post area, which is being developed at a cost of Rs. 19.28 lakhs. She also examined the progress of the Materials Recovery Facility Centre in the Padapayar region.
Additionally, the Collector reviewed the construction of a Primary Health Centre, which is being built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs in the Finger Post region under the National Urban Health Commission. These projects aim to enhance public health and hygiene facilities in Ooty, aligning with the broader goals of urban development and sanitation.
Ooty Municipal Commissioner Jahangir Basha and other government officials accompanied the Collector during the inspection.
