NMR special service begins

The Southern Railway on Saturday began special service of the Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) ahead of festival season. The NMR service between Mettupalayam in the district and Ooty in Nilgiris has been one of the favourite choices of transportation for the tourists. The train which leaves Mettupalayam at 9:10 am, reaches Ooty by 2:25 pm the same day. The first-class compartment of the train has 40 seats, while the second-class compartment has 140 seats.
