In Karnataka liquor is sold in tetra packs. In Tamil Nadu currently liquor is sold in 180 ml bottles. Manual laborers find it difficult to drink it completely. That's why it was studied to release Tetra pack liquor which cannot be adulterated. But no decision was taken yet to release tetrapacks and open TASMAC shops in advance. A survey was conducted to study the problems of Tasmac workers and manual workers who go to work between 7 and 9 am. Soon a meeting of all trade unions will be held to solve the the Tasmac workers problem. A van is going to be introduced which will go to two or three districts to counsel liquor addicts. Tasmac shop staff told to sell liquor to people above 18 years of age and if people of less age come to the shop, they should inform the authorities and they will also be given counseling. De-addiction centers are functioning at 15 locations in Tamil Nadu, he said.
