AIADMK interim general secretary and opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami demanded the state government to provide Rs 30,000 per acre compensation for the rain-affected crops in the state.In a statement, he said, “Rain has been slashing several districts in the state for the past few days and as a result, over 1.5 lakh crops were damaged in districts. In delta regions including Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai, over one lakh farmlands were damaged in rain.”
