OPS & EPS await SC judgement

OPS & EPS await SC judgement

When the hearing of the appeal case related to the AIADMK General Council is over, judging by the final arguments and the questions raised by the judges in the Supreme Court yesterday, it is said that there is very little chance of a favorable verdict for the side of a particular person.

During the closing arguments, the Supreme Court judges raised several important questions. The judges questioned the O.Paneerselvam and Edappadi K Palanisamy (OPS-EPS), ``There is no clear understanding of the AIADMK party rules. If the affairs of the party is indefinitely contested in the court, how will you find time to run the party  ”. It seems that the judges were not satisfied with the arguments made by both sides regarding the party rules till the end.

A bench of Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Rishikesh Roy continued to hear the case, and the verdict in the case was adjourned for an unspecified date. All the parties have been directed to file their arguments in writing by the January 16, and the verdict is likely to be delivered after that. However, the verdict is expected within this month.

Subsequently, the judges inquired about the July 11 General Council meeting and questioned how he was removed from the party when there was no agenda to remove OPS in the General Council.
And some questions asked by the judges are: Before June 23rd there was no problem with the two leaders working together.

Then the problem started? Which body/organ of the party can change, amend or delete the rules of the party? What to do when the situation is not possible for both of them to work together? How will you manage the party affairs if the AIADMK party issue continues in the courts? What do you do if the incumbent of one of the two leadership positions does not wish to continue? The judges presented such important questions.

Finally in yesterday's hearing, the questions raised by the judges of the Supreme Court and the comments made by them, political observers say that it is impossible for a verdict to be given to one of the two parties, OPS-EPS. Thus, it is said that there is a high chance of an order to resolve the election of the General Secretary by conducting the election by the basic members as per the status before June 23. However, both sides are eagerly awaiting the Supreme Court's order. We too will wait for the verdict!
