Plea to check pollution problem in Bavani river

Representatives of various political parties and trade and industry associations led by CPI ex-MLA PL Sundaram and Sudar NGO director Nataraj submitted a petition to the EE Water Resource Department (WRD) at Bavanisagar  pleading to check pollution problem in the Bavani river caused by mixing of industrial wastes in the river. 
They wanted constitution of PWD, Revenue officials and people's representatives to monitor the river and check pollution problem as the Health Minister M Subramaniam himself admitted that Erode is one among 3 districts that have highest cancer cases. 
If no action is taken, they would stage a stir on June 5 (world environment day),  they said
