Plea to reduce property tax hike

Erode tax payers welfare association appealed to the government to reduce the property tax hike upto10 percent.
A meeting of the Association was held in Erode on Sunday under the chairmanship of the association's vice-president Shanmugasundaram. General Secretary Bharti presided. The following resolutions were passed .

Tax hike should be 10 per cent for houses, 20 per cent for businesses and 30 per cent for industries in Erode. A resolution in this regard should be passed in the corporation council meeting and sent to the government.  DTCP should conduct a special camp once in 3 months to give approval to the unapproved plots.  It will generate more revenue to the government. To avoid traffic congestion in the city, parking facilities for apartments should be provided at various places in the city. 

The association planned various kind of stirs to press the demand.  Treasurer Chandrashekar welcomed. Deputy Secretary Sakthivel proposed vote of thanks. In the meeting,  T.A. Shanmusundaram was elected as new President, Selvaraj as Vice President and Suresh Bhupathi as Deputy Secretary.
