Plea to shift Erode cattle shandy

Many residents of Sai Guru Nagar, Karungalpalayam, Erode, led by one Meyyappan,  submitted a petition to the Erode Corporation officials pleading to  shift the weekly cattle shandy functioning in the area  on Wednesdays and Thursdays. 
 

Many vehicles were going to Salem, Namakkal, Chennai along the road in the area. 
As the road is narrow traffic congestion and disruption was always  high. It was accentuated during shandy days when over 5000 cattles were being  brought regularly in over 500 vehicles.  The farmers and traders were using  the nearby irrigation canal to give water to cattle, cleanse them and  vehicles etc. 
 

Ad famous temples, dargahs and electric crematorium were in the artea, people  came to the place regularly and due to the shandy, they were facing much problem. So, they pleaded to officials to shift the shandy to some other area.
