District Superintendent of Police Sasimohan said that if the political parties applied for holding election rallie, meetings, etc through online, no objection certificate (NOC) will be given within 30 minutes in the ongoing poll process for Erode East segment bypoll at the consultation meeting with the representatives of the political parties on the rules of election model code of conduct, arranged by the District Election Officer and District Collector Krishnanunny.
Within the Erode East constituency, a specific place has been reserved for holding campaigns and public meetings. If the political parties ask for another place, it will be considered. If more than one person requests the same spot, priority will be given to those who request permission first. Campaign in vehicles and public meeting will not be given permission by the police.
Political party leaders should clearly indicate where they will start and where they will end the rallies.
If campaign is made in unauthorised spots, action will be taken. The details of permission granted and denied will be posted on the notice board of the police station concerned, he added.
