Many members of the Erode Corporation today complained to the Chairman of the Assembly Public Accounts Committee, Selvaperundakai, that there are various shortcomings in the new Rs 540 cr Uratchikottai drinking water project being implemented in the Erode Corporation.  When the PAC reviewed the project at the Corporation office, the complaints were lodged against the L&T company which was implementing the project.

In many places drinking water did not come in. The firm's officials did not attend even phone calls of councillors regarding water problem. In this regard, the PAC chairman said the PAC will recommend to the government to blacklist the company if suitable explanation is given on the complaints.   Following this, the members pointed out various grievances regarding the underground sewerage project (UGD).
