Raids at 49 places of Ex.Minister R.Kamaraj

The Tamil Nadu Department of Vigilance Anti-Corruption Police is conducting raids at 49 places, including the residence of former Food Minister R. Kamaraj and the residence of his relatives and friends in Mannargudi.

At 5 o'clock in the morning today, more than 10 policemen led by DVAC, DSP Sathyaseelan came to his house on Mannargudi North Road and started the search.

AIADMK city secretary in Mannargudi first street, R. Kamaraj's cousin R.G. Kumar, Kamaraj's friend Satyamurthy in VedadiThidal, R Kamaraj's house in Thanjavur, his house in Nannilam and his newly built hospital in Thanjavur and his house in Chennai are being searched in 49 places.

A large number of AIADMK members gathered in front of his residence on Mannargudi North Road after getting the information that the anti-bribery raid was going on.

The party members gathered outside Kamaraj’s house raised slogans condemning the DMK government. 
Commenting on the raids in former AIADMK Minister’s residences and businesses, Edappadi 
K Palaniswami said it was due to political vendeta. 

Condemning the raids he said it was being done as the DMK cannot face the AIADMK politically.
